This role is responsible for responding to customer inquiries related to order status, shipment dates, and escalations, while ensuring alignment with operational capabilities and business priorities.

Given the complexity of the manufacturing environment, this position requires a strong understanding of how multiple departments interact and impact one another, along with the ability to make informed decisions that support both customer satisfaction and overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding order status, production timelines, and shipment dates
  • Manage and resolve escalations with a sense of urgency, balancing customer expectations with operational constraints
  • Partner closely with Scheduling, Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to gather information and provide accurate updates
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the end-to-end manufacturing and scheduling process, including upstream and downstream impacts
  • Evaluate complex situations and apply critical thinking to determine appropriate next steps when standard processes do not apply
  • Proactively identify risks to delivery timelines and communicate potential impacts to stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Support business objectives by making decisions that align with revenue goals, customer commitments, and operational efficiency
  • Document key learnings and contribute to process improvements where recurring gaps or inefficiencies are identified

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to understand and navigate cross-functional processes within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage high-pressure or escalated situations professionally
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently with limited direction
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

Education & Experience:

  • High School and/or Technical School is required.
  • One or more years of related work experience, preferably in a construction related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or associate’s degree is preferred
  • Requires a basic knowledge of lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
  • Basic project management skills such as communication, leadership, team management, negotiation, personal organization, and risk management are required.
  • Strong customer service experience and abilities are required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • The ability to read, interpret, comprehend and organize technical documentation (architectural drawings, elevator architectural submittals, and elevator layout drawings) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
  • Requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and decimals.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented to manage multiple projects.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively to ensure high productivity and efficiency.
  • Must be able to work independently.

Work Environment & Expectations:

  • This role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing and customer service environment with frequent exposure to time-sensitive and high-visibility issues
  • While training materials and documentation are available, not all scenarios have a defined standard operating procedure (SOP); success in this role requires adaptability, sound judgment, and the confidence to act with incomplete information

Salary/Rate: $20-$25/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.

As part of that commitment, we believe in providing clear information about how our hiring technologies work and how your data is used. The following section outlines our AI-assisted interview process and your rights as a candidate.

AI-Assisted Interview Experience (Pete & Gabi – Rebecca):

To provide a consistent, fair, and flexible experience for all candidates, we use AI-assisted tools to support parts of the interview process. This includes our proprietary AI platform Pete & Gabi, which includes AI recruiter Rebecca.

These AI hiring tools help us:

  • Conduct recorded video interviews

  • Streamline communication and scheduling

Please note that:

If you prefer a non-AI interview format, we will gladly provide an alternative.

Technical or Case Interviews (Role-Dependent):

When applying for certain tech jobs, you may participate in:

  • A technical interview
  • A coding challenge
  • A case study
  • A client-specific assessment

We will always explain what to expect in advance so you can prepare with confidence.

Human Review & Selection: +

Every candidate’s profile—including interviews, conversations, and assessments—is reviewed by experienced recruiters and hiring leaders.

AI insights may assist with organization and evaluation, but final decisions are always human-driven.
