Software engineer 

With millions of products and services connected to the internet in some capacity, companies need to create software that can compete in the ever-changing digital space. An emerging cutting-edge tech job is the role of software engineer. This job role calls for the development of solutions that meet companies’ needs. Engineers create operating and network systems, mobile apps and web applications. 

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for software engineers is set to grow 22% this decade.  

Web designer (UX/UI) 

User-centered designs are becoming increasingly important in the digital world. As a result, this growing market is ideal for skilled UX and UI designers to carve out a career.  Aside from testing websites and apps, web designers also tend to focus on user research, layouts, and mockups. 

 UX is listed as one of LinkedIn’s top 20 skills to learn. This sought after IT employment profession is expected to grow 21% in the coming years. Senior UX web designers make an average of $154,452 

Data analysts 

Data scientists are much-needed assets to companies who need to make sense of the treasure trove of data they collect through software and artificial technology. In having specialists analyze data, companies can translate findings into valuable insights and results.  

According to McKinsey’s 2023 Tech report, data scientists ranked number 1 in the highest, most in-demand tech job.  By 2026, the field is expected to grow by 27%.  

Network/cloud engineer 

Cloud engineers are responsible for the execution, security, and day-to-day support of network and cloud services. 

Moreover, network engineers manage cloud computing strategies and infrastructure for organizations. With the growing juggernaut of cloud technology, cloud architects play a crucial role in helping businesses leverage the benefits of cloud computing. In a ten-year span from 2021-2031, nearly 700,000 jobs are projected to be created for cloud engineers, which translates to an industry growth of 25%.
