POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Solution Architect is responsible for defining and maintaining the structure of the solution and ensuring it meets all business requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Help the development team work collaboratively to jointly own the solution.
• Provide supervision and guidance to the development team.
• Promote and enforce best practices across the project area.
• Create high-level and detailed design documents and maintain product roadmaps.
• Work across solutions that require integration across multiple platforms and/or business areas.
• Develop a testing approach and build test cases to validate core business functionality.
• Define and communicate the impact of requirements on system components across functional areas.
• Leverage external experience and knowledge to improve internal practices.
• Develop Technical Design Documents.
• Document system functionality.
• Verify work estimates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
• B.S. in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
• Extensive mainframe experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in general IT.
• Minimum 10 years of experience developing mainframe integration solutions.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong understanding of legacy systems and best practices.
• Proven ability to analyze and understand existing processes and codebases.
• Capability to align technical solutions with organizational goals.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Exposure to diverse technical environments, configurations, and technologies.
• Solid knowledge of retail industry trends, challenges, and best practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, influence, and negotiation.
Technical Proficiency:
• Integration work and data manipulation using Snowflake.
• Data integration from Tandem to external systems.
• Familiarity with Blue Yonder SCPO (Demand Planning, Fulfillment, Inventory Optimization) and WMS.
• Proficient in IBM Mainframe technologies.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems.
• Knowledge of Kafka and Mulesoft.
Tools:
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
