Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks based on project specifications.
- Prepare shop, layout, and assembly drawings for metal fabrication projects.
- Interpret engineering sketches, drawing isometric views of advanced projects, blueprints, and specifications to create accurate fabrication drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with client's standards and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and shop teams to resolve design/fabrication issues.
- Perform field measurements and create as-built drawings when required.
- Support RFQ/bid processes by providing preliminary drawings and material take-offs.
- Maintain document control and revisions in alignment with project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field; Bachelor's degree a plus.
- Minimum 5–8 years of drafting experience in an industrial or fabrication setting.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks; Revit experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of structural steel, sheet metal, and industrial ductwork systems.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, tolerances, and materials (carbon steel, stainless, aluminum).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with ASME and AWS standards.
- Field experience supporting fabrication and installation crews.
- Experience working in design-build environments or with modular construction.
Compensation & Growth:
Base salary of $50,000–$70,000, depending on experience and skillset
