Position Description:
The Level 2 Linux Server Administrator will provide day-to-day support and administration of Linux-based server infrastructure, ensuring efficient operation, timely resolution of technical issues, and ensuring compliance with organizational IT policies and standards. This position involves working closely with internal customers for escalated issues and performing advanced troubleshooting, patch management, and optimization tasks.
You Will:
· Perform routine maintenance tasks on Linux servers, including updates, patches, and backups.
· Manage and maintain Linux servers (Redhat, Suse).
· Configure and manage core services such as SSH, NFS, DNS, DHCP, and other core Linux services.
· Troubleshoot issues with Linux servers, including systems hosted in physical data centers as well as AWS hosted.
· Maintain and monitor file systems, ensuring capacity planning and performance tuning.
· Respond to and resolve escalated technical issues from both automated monitoring and our Global Command Center.
· Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement appropriate solutions.
· Manage and troubleshoot virtualized environments, including Nutanix AHV and VMware.
· Assist in integrating on-premise Linux servers with cloud platforms.
· Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
You Have:
· 2-4 years in Linux Server administration and Administrating.
· Strong understanding of Linux Server OS, Redhat/Suse
· Proficiency with shell scripting (Bash) and familiarity with Python or Perl.
· Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
· Solid understanding of networking concepts, IP management, DNS, and load balancers.
· Familiarity with containerization technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects efficiently.
