Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Relationship Manager – Supply Chain to join their team. The Senior Technology Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will serve as the senior strategic face of IT to the Supply Chain organization. This role partners closely with senior business leaders to understand business strategies, operational priorities, challenges, and emerging opportunities, and translates those needs into technology strategies and solutions that enable business growth and performance.

The BRM combines the capabilities of a senior business analyst, business architect, and technology strategist with exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills. Rather than simply responding to technology requests, the BRM proactively anticipates business needs, identifies opportunities where technology can create value, and helps business leaders understand how IT can enable their strategic objectives.

The Supply Chain BRM will develop a deep understanding of supply chain processes and capabilities, including planning, procurement, sourcing, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, and supplier management. The role will work across business and IT teams to establish priorities, develop technology roadmaps, and ensure technology investments are aligned with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary senior technology relationship leader and trusted advisor to Supply Chain leadership.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with business executives and key stakeholders across Supply Chain.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Supply Chain strategy, business capabilities, processes, pain points, and future-state objectives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities where technology, data, automation, AI, analytics, or digital capabilities can improve business performance.
  • Anticipate emerging business needs and introduce technology capabilities and ideas before they become formal business requests.
  • Translate business strategy and objectives into technology strategies, roadmaps, and investment priorities.
  • Partner with business leaders to define and prioritize technology initiatives based on business value, risk, cost, and strategic importance.
  • Act as the connector between Supply Chain leadership, enterprise architecture, application teams, data/analytics, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and other IT functions.
  • Facilitate executive-level conversations regarding technology opportunities, tradeoffs, dependencies, and risks.
  • Develop and maintain a Supply Chain technology roadmap aligned with business strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, modernize, integrate, or rationalize technology capabilities.
  • Help business leaders understand emerging technologies and their practical applications to Supply Chain.
  • Lead or facilitate business capability assessments, process analysis, technology assessments, and future-state planning.
  • Ensure business requirements and strategic objectives are clearly understood by technology delivery teams.
  • Challenge assumptions and help stakeholders move from individual technology requests toward enterprise solutions and strategic outcomes.
  • Support business cases, investment decisions, and prioritization of technology initiatives.
  • Monitor industry and technology trends and translate relevant developments into actionable recommendations for Supply Chain.
  • Promote effective use of data, analytics, automation, AI, and other emerging technologies.
  • Establish effective governance and communication mechanisms between IT and Supply Chain.
  • Measure and communicate the business value and outcomes of technology investments.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in technology, business analysis, business architecture, IT consulting, or a related field.
  • Significant experience working directly with senior business leaders and executives.
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain business processes and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into technology strategy and roadmaps.
  • Strong business analysis and business architecture capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and build consensus across business and technology organizations without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience evaluating technology solutions and translating technical concepts into business value.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, complex, and rapidly changing environments.
  • Experience with enterprise applications, data and analytics, integration, cloud, automation, AI, and modern digital technologies.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, priorities, and competing demands.

Leadership Attributes:

The successful candidate will be:

  • Strategic: Thinks beyond today’s requests and anticipates future business needs.
  • Business-oriented: Understands how the business creates value and connects technology investments to measurable outcomes.
  • Technically credible: Has sufficient technical depth to engage effectively with architects, engineers, and technology leaders.
  • A trusted advisor: Builds relationships based on credibility, transparency, and understanding of the business.
  • Proactive: Brings ideas and solutions to the business rather than waiting for requirements.
  • Influential: Can align diverse stakeholders and drive decisions without direct authority.
  • Executive-ready: Can communicate complex technology topics clearly and effectively to senior leaders.
  • Curious and innovative: Continuously looks for ways emerging technology can improve business performance.

Salary/Rate: $70-$90/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week. Upon conversion salary: $160,000 - $185,000 (depends on experience level) + benefits.
