Key Responsibilities:

Jiva Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for the Jiva platform.
  • Define integration architecture and technical patterns for connecting Jiva with enterprise clinical, administrative, and data platforms.
  • Understand Jiva application architecture, data structures, configuration, workflows, interfaces, and integration capabilities.
  • Evaluate technical requirements and translate them into scalable integration designs.
  • Work directly with internal technology teams, and other vendors to resolve design and integration issues.
  • Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance to developers and integration teams.

Integration Design

  • Design integrations using:
    • REST and other API-based integration patterns
    • File-based and batch integrations
    • Data extracts and scheduled interfaces
    • Event-driven and asynchronous integration patterns
  • Design integration components as required; this is a hands-on architecture role.
  • Define interface specifications, mappings, transformation rules, error-handling processes, reconciliation, and monitoring requirements.
  • Design integrations for high-volume healthcare data with appropriate scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
  • Support integration testing, defect resolution, deployment, and production stabilization.

Healthcare & Clinical Integration

  • Apply strong knowledge of healthcare payer technology and clinical operations when designing solutions.
  • Support integrations involving areas such as:
    • Utilization management and prior authorization
    • Care and case management
    • Claims and encounters
    • Member eligibility and enrollment
    • Provider data
    • Clinical data
    • Member and provider portals
    • Enterprise data and analytics platforms
  • Ensure integration designs comply with applicable healthcare security, privacy, interoperability, and data governance requirements.

Architecture & Documentation

  • Develop integration architecture diagrams, interface designs, data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.
  • Establish reusable integration patterns and technical standards.
  • Assess dependencies, technical risks, scalability requirements, and integration impacts across the enterprise.
  • Participate in architecture governance and technical decision-making forums.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant hands-on experience with the Jiva Healthcare Enterprise Management Platform.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing Jiva integrations in a production healthcare environment.
  • Strong healthcare technology background, preferably within a U.S. health plan/payer.
  • 7+ years of overall healthcare technology, software engineering, integration, or architecture experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise integrations.
  • Strong hands-on development experience with APIs, batch/file interfaces, data extracts, and event-driven integration patterns.
  • Experience designing integrations between SaaS/platform applications and complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, transformations, interface error handling, reconciliation, logging, and monitoring.
  • Ability to operate at both the architecture and development levels.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across business, clinical, technology, vendor, and executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Jiva implementations, major upgrades, migrations, or enterprise-scale optimization programs.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, X12, C-CDA, or related healthcare data exchange standards.
  • Familiarity with modern integration technologies, messaging platforms, API management, middleware, and cloud integration patterns.
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, or commercial health plan operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • The individual should be comfortable serving as the senior technical architect while remaining close enough to the technology to diagnose problems, review code and mappings, prototype solutions, and support delivery teams through implementation.

Salary/Rate: $85-$100/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.

About Us

Peterson Technology Partners (PTP) is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating a transparent, inclusive, and human-centered hiring experience.

For more than 28 years, PTP has operated as one of the top IT staffing and recruiting firms in the USA—built on trust, long-term partnerships, and technical excellence.

Based in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, IL, our team of more than 500 employees and consultants is dedicated to:

  • Helping every client make the best hiring decisions possible
  • Matching professionals with the right IT jobs and career opportunities

As part of that commitment, we believe in providing clear information about how our hiring technologies work and how your data is used. The following section outlines our AI-assisted interview process and your rights as a candidate.

AI-Assisted Interview Experience (Pete & Gabi – Rebecca):

To provide a consistent, fair, and flexible experience for all candidates, we use AI-assisted tools to support parts of the interview process. This includes our proprietary AI platform Pete & Gabi, which includes AI recruiter Rebecca.

These AI hiring tools help us:

  • Conduct recorded video interviews
  • Transcribe interviews
  • Summarize candidate responses
  • Generate job-related insights
  • Streamline communication and scheduling

Please note that:

  • The AI does NOT make hiring decisions; all decisions are made by our human recruiters, hiring managers, or client partners.
  • The AI does not evaluate facial expressions, emotions, or physical traits; it is used only to support fairness, consistency, and efficiency.

If you prefer a non-AI interview format, we will gladly provide an alternative.

Technical or Case Interviews (Role-Dependent):

When applying for certain tech jobs, you may participate in:

  • A technical interview
  • A coding challenge
  • A case study
  • A client-specific assessment

We will always explain what to expect in advance so you can prepare with confidence.

Human Review & Selection: +

Every candidate’s profile—including interviews, conversations, and assessments—is reviewed by experienced recruiters and hiring leaders.

AI insights may assist with organization and evaluation, but final decisions are always human-driven.

Your Rights as a Candidate: +

At PTP, every candidate has the right to:

  • Request a non-AI interview path
  • Ask how your data is being used
  • Request access to transcripts or interview recordings
  • Request deletion of your AI-recorded interview
  • Receive clear, timely communication

Our goal is to ensure you feel respected, informed, and supported throughout your experience.

Our Commitment: +

For more than 28 years, PTP has focused on putting people first—candidates, consultants, employees, and clients.

We’re committed to a hiring process that is:

  • Transparent
  • Compliant
  • Equitable
  • Powered by innovative technology that enhances—not replaces—human judgment

Welcome to the future of hiring at Peterson Technology Partners.

We’re excited to learn more about you.

Equal Employment Opportunity: +
