This role will work closely with Pharmacy/PBM Operations leadership and partner with IT Clinical Reporting, data warehouse, and business teams to support pharmacy analytics and broader clinical reporting initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong healthcare payer and pharmacy/PBM domain knowledge with advanced SQL, data wrangling, data validation, and BI/reporting skills. This is an end-to-end analytical role requiring the ability to understand a business question, identify and prepare the appropriate data, perform analysis, develop reporting outputs, communicate findings, and recommend actionable next steps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze pharmacy and PBM data to support operational, financial, clinical, and business decision-making.
  • Develop ad hoc analyses, operational reports, KPI summaries, dashboards, trend analysis, variance analysis, and executive-ready reporting.
  • Work with pharmacy claims, drug utilization, NDC, formulary, pricing, PBM operations, vendor, and performance data.
  • Extract, ingest, clean, transform, join, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources, including PBM extracts, flat files, spreadsheets, databases, data warehouses, and vendor reports.
  • Convert file-based and spreadsheet-based data into structured, database-ready datasets for repeatable analysis and reporting.
  • Perform source-to-report reconciliation and investigate data discrepancies, anomalies, and quality issues.
  • Support PBM oversight, vendor performance monitoring, contract analysis, pricing analysis, claims analysis, and performance guarantee reporting.
  • Develop and maintain BI dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Write complex SQL queries to retrieve, transform, validate, and analyze large healthcare datasets.
  • Partner with Pharmacy/PBM Operations, IT Clinical Reporting, data warehouse teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
  • Identify trends, patterns, variances, and operational opportunities and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Support regulatory and operational reporting requirements related to pharmacy and PBM activities.
  • Document data sources, business logic, validation processes, and reporting methodologies to promote repeatability and data quality.
  • Communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in healthcare payer, pharmacy, or PBM environments.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy claims, drug utilization, NDC/formulary data, PBM operations, pricing, reconciliation, vendor oversight, and performance reporting.
  • Strong hands-on SQL skills with experience querying and analyzing complex datasets.
  • Experience with data wrangling, data cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Experience developing BI reports, dashboards, KPIs, and operational reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate data issues and identify root causes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data findings to business and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Salary/Rate: $50-$65/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.

We will always explain what to expect in advance so you can prepare with confidence.
