Position Description:
The Level 2 Windows Server Administrator will provide day-to-day support and administration of Windows-based server infrastructure, ensuring efficient operation, timely resolution of technical issues, and ensuring compliance with organizational IT policies and standards. This position involves working closely with internal customers for escalated issues and performing advanced troubleshooting, patch management, and optimization tasks.
You Will:
· Perform routine maintenance tasks on Windows servers, including updates, patches, and backups.
· Configure and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other core Windows services.
· Troubleshoot issues with Windows servers, including systems hosted in physical data centers as well as AWS hosted.
· Maintain and monitor file systems, ensuring capacity planning and performance tuning.
· Respond to and resolve escalated technical issues from both automated monitoring and our Global Command Center.
· Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement appropriate solutions.
· Manage and troubleshoot virtualized environments, including Nutanix AHV and VMware.
· Assist in integrating on-premise Windows servers with cloud platforms.
· Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
You Have:
· 2-4 years in Windows Server administration and Administrating.
· Strong understanding of Windows Server OS (2012-2022)
· Proficiency with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and File Server roles.
· Experience with server virtualization platforms , specifically Nutanix AHV and VMware
· Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
· Ability to write scripts for server management and automation using PowerShell or Python, and familiarity with version control platforms such as GitHub.
· Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Microsoft Configuration Manager
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects efficiently.
Salary/Rate: $18-$20/HR (depends on experience). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/week.
