Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated API Automation Tester with strong experience in both automation and functional testing. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in test automation frameworks, a deep understanding of QA methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment. This role requires a proactive individual who takes ownership of quality and drives issues to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases to ensure product quality
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts using modern tools and technologies
  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing across multiple applications
  • Execute API testing and automation to validate backend services
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure quality standards
  • Identify, document, and track defects, risks, and issues, ensuring timely resolution
  • Manage and prioritize multiple testing efforts and releases simultaneously
  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Software Testing
  • 5+ years of experience in test automation or strong equivalent automation skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
  • Playwright, Selenium, Cypress
  • Proficiency in Java or JavaScript (mandatory)
  • Solid experience in functional testing methodologies
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like JIRA or similar
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and testing cycles simultaneously
  • Experience with API testing tools such as:
  • Rest-Assured, Postman, SoapUI, SOAtest, or CA LISA (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL (ability to write and execute queries)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate bugs, risks, and test results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building or enhancing test automation frameworks from scratch
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with performance or security testing is a plus

Salary/Rate: $15/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
