Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer with strong expertise in semantic modeling, data integration, and enterprise BI architecture. This role will own the end-to-end Power BI lifecycle—from data integration and modeling through dashboard development, deployment, and governance.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on Power BI development (70%) with data architecture and integration design (30%), and can deliver high-quality, user-centric dashboards backed by scalable, well-architected data models.
Key Responsibilities - Power BI Development & UX
Design and develop high-impact, executive-ready dashboards and reports with strong focus on usability and storytelling.
Build and maintain reusable Power BI semantic models (datasets) using best-practice dimensional modeling (star schema).
Develop advanced DAX measures, calculations, and time-intelligence logic.
Key Responsibilities - Data Integration & Pipeline
Integrate data from Azure Synapse, enterprise data warehouses, and reference data marts.
Design and contribute to ETL/data pipeline solutions using ADF, SSIS, and other integration tools.
Support data movement and integration patterns from systems such as Profisee into downstream reporting layers.
Key Responsibilities - Architecture & Performance
Define and implement end-to-end BI architecture across ingestion → modeling → reporting.
Optimize performance using techniques such as aggregations, incremental refresh, and query optimization.
Make design decisions around Import vs DirectQuery, composite models, and data latency tradeoffs.
Key Responsibilities - Power BI Platform & Governance
Architect and manage Power BI Service components including workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines (Dev/UAT/Prod).
Implement security and governance best practices (Row-Level Security, dataset certification, access controls).
Monitor and maintain reporting environments including data refresh, usage, and performance.
Key Responsibilities - Collaboration & Delivery
Partner with business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions.
Contribute to data modeling and architecture using ERwin or similar tools.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with enterprise data standards.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI development and data visualization.
Strong expertise in Power BI semantic modeling, DAX, and dimensional modeling.
Experience with Azure Synapse, data warehouses, and data marts.
Hands-on experience with ADF and/or SSIS for data pipelines.
Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational data modeling.
Experience designing and supporting end-to-end BI/reporting solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Power BI Service architecture (workspaces, pipelines, governance).
Exposure to Profisee or other MDM platforms.
Familiarity with Power BI DevOps and deployment automation.
Experience with large-scale / enterprise BI environments.
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or modern Azure analytics stack.
Work Allocation
70% Development (Power BI reports, datasets, DAX, UX).
30% Architecture (data pipelines, modeling, platform design).
